Gath is a small Philistine town famous for its population of giants (2 Samuel 21:19-22). It is the hometown of several prominent characters in the Son of Samson comic, including series protagonist Branan, his mother, Branan's uncle Mathias, Behem, and Behem's mother. Gath only appears twice in the comic, in the flashback Adventures of Young Branan episodes in volumes one and four.
According to scripture, Philistine strongman Goliath also hails from Gath.
